From the American Spectator
Citing President Bush’s recent cameo appearance on NBC’s “Deal or No Deal,” former President Bill Clinton today suggested that his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, might want to appear on a network show, too, “like, I dunno, maybe ‘Wife Swap’ or something, you know, just to mix it up.”Speaking to a crowd in Evansville, Ind., before the Indiana primary, Clinton said he saw the reaction President Bush got when his face popped up on the video screen on “Deal or No Deal,” and he thought his wife might generate a similarly positive reaction were she to switch places with Sen. Osama’s “very attractive” wife, Michelle, for a week. (more)

3 Trillion Bucks- and not apenny for security
Posted by eutychusblog on April 19, 2008
Over at Machinist- Salon.com we have this:
Three trillion dollars is a lot of cash. You know that, but it’s more than you think: For the last three hours I’ve tried to spend $3 trillion and I barely cracked a trillion. Can you do better?
My playground was 3Trillion.org, an antiwar Web site set up by Robert Greenwald’sBrave New Films.
In his new book, the economist Joseph Stiglitz estimates that the Iraq war will cost, in total, $3 trillion. The Greenwald site aims to illustrate the opportunity cost of the war — other things we might have done with the money.
How clever. Aside from the dubious figure of three trillion which many question, and the tiny number that represents compared to our GDP, and the fact that the money spent on the war is ABOVE the ordinary military budget and not in the domestic budget (would it still be doing the supposed damage to the economy if it was domestic spending?) I find the list of all the things the author would spend the money on enlightning. A “mooning gnome” is a good symbol for the lefts idea of security.

Postal Workers Attacked by Wild Turkeys
Posted by eutychusblog on April 8, 2008
From the Examiner:
MADISON, Wis. (Map, News) – Rather than rain or snow, or even dogs, postal workers in a West Side neighborhood near Owen Conservation Park are being pestered by wild turkeys this spring. Mara Wilhite, manager of the Hilldale Station Post Office, said she expected to deal with all manner of issues when she went to work for the U.S. Post Office. But that was not one of them.
“Just when you thought you’d heard it all,” she said. (article here)
