Intelligence Agencies Warn that Hezbollah is Poised to Attack

My apologies for the long delay in postings. I have been away doing Army support in Idaho. Beautiful area up there around Boise. It reminds me of the area around Bagram Air base in Afghanistan. Cooler there than here in Texas. I’ll get back to posting shortly.

McCain Compiles List of Running Mates

At least he has a sense of humor:
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) – Sen. John McCain said Wednesday he has begun “getting together a list of names” to choose a vice presidential running mate, and hopes to make an announcement before the Republican convention in early September.
“I’d like to get it done as early as possible. I’m aware of enhanced importance of this issue given my age,” said the Arizona senator, 71. (full article)

Russia threatens to use force over Kosovo

UNITED NATIONS — The international split over Kosovo grew more ominous Friday as Russia raised the spectre of using force to back its Serb ally’s bid to retain the territory.
Russia’s envoy to NATO warned both the Western military alliance, which has a 16,000-strong peacekeeping force in Kosovo, and the European Union against formally backing the ethnic-Albanian leadership’s declaration of independence from Serbia.
